Honeycomb in Minecraft is all about bee nests and using shears at the right time. Here's how to get it:
-
Find a bee nest: These spawn naturally in meadows and plains biomes. Look for a large, brown sphere hanging from trees.
-
Wait for the honey to be ready: Honeybees will gradually fill the nest with honey. You'll know it's full when the nest turns a yellowish-orange color and starts dripping honey particles. This is called honey level 5.
-
Use shears to collect honeycomb (carefully!): Using shears on a full bee nest will harvest three honeycomb, but it will also anger the bees and make them attack you.
Here's the trick to avoid getting stung:
- Campfire method: Place a lit campfire directly beneath the bee nest before harvesting. The smoke calms the bees and allows you to collect the honeycomb safely.
Alternative methods (if you don't have shears or a campfire):
- Wait for the bees to leave the nest to collect pollen, then quickly harvest the honeycomb. This is risky, though, as bees can return at any time.
- Build a dispenser and place shears inside. Aim the dispenser at the bee nest and activate it. This can automate honeycomb collection, but it will still anger the bees.
Once you have your honeycomb, you can use it for crafting beehives, candles, and waxed copper.
